Hollywood executives have noticed the returns of 3-D fare with original films such as the hit "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 3D" and the re-release titles "Toy Story/Toy Story 2 in Disney Digital 3D," which have thus far grossed $100 million and $25 million, respectively. Both titles are still in theaters.
Family audiences are supporting such fare, something that delights exhibitors due to the increased popcorn, soda and candy sales.
The "Toy Story" experiment is particularly impressive, since Disney had the two computer-animated titles in its vault and simply had to remaster them to achieve the 3-D effect. "Toy Story 3 in Disney Digital 3D," by the way, will bring back Woody and Buzz Lightyear, with voices by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, respectively, on June 18, 2010.

It's been such a long time before newest sequel, viewers expect great improvement and this 3D makes me more excited.
